A question to mums with boys?

I have read numerous articles and discussed it with a lot of my friends about what age you should stop being around your son and alot of people said my son was a little too old. Now i am a single mum with a 5 yr old boy and he still sees me on occasions around the house. Also when i take him to our local swimming baths he will change with me in a family cubicle. I know in a few yrs things will be different but at the minute i would rather he saw me than him go into the mens by himself where anything could happen. Looking for some advice from other mums.
